Hey kitty girls! we spoke to Season 2 and Al-Stars 1 contestant Jujubee about Drag Race UK, her new show on TLC and and her other upcoming projects. Enjoy!

Hey Jujubee, so what does it mean to be here today at the first ever UK DragCon?
I am so excited to be here. It’s a really incredible event when we have it in the states but it is insane here. I think, since its the first one, everyone is just so excited and its really special because we have the UK queens here too, the Drag Race UK cast.
Speaking of the UK queens, did you watch Drag Race UK?
I did!

Did you have a favourite contestant?
Baga! She just…well, I love to laugh, and everything that she did on the show was just so funny because it came from. that humorous part of her soul, and Baga doesn’t take herself too seriously, which I really appreciate, because drag should be fun
If you were ever asked to return for an All-Star season ala Manilla and Latrice, what would you want to show the fans that they haven’t seen from you yet?
I think that, right now, I am the best version of myself, so if I had the opportunity to do it again you would see the best version of me, and I’m proud of that.
Now, you have recently been working on a show with fellow Drag Race alum: Alexis Michelle, Bebe Zahara Benet and Thorgy Thor, can you tell us a little more about that?
Yeah of course! So the show is called Dragnificent, and it premiers on TLC in April. I dont know if it’s coming out in the uk yet though, but y’all have TLC right?

Yes we do! I used to watch Dance Moms on it.
Right, so I’m hoping that it premiers here too! But Dragnificent, we go to small towns, we find women, they write in to us or sometimes their families do, and we hook them up girl. It’s not about a makeover because you can take off a makeover, what I love, and what I think is so special about Dragnificent is that its a transformation show. We really work with people spiritually and then we dress them up to match their spiritual bodies.
If you were to look back at Season 2 how do you feel about your performance now, is there anything you would change if you could?
You know, I don’t like to live in the past. I’m very happy with everything that I’ve done because if I didn’t do it the way that I did then I wouldn’t be here right now, so I believe that all of the mistakes I’ve made I have learned from and I’ve become myself through those moments
What is next for Jujubee, do you have any projects other than Dragnificent that you’re working on?
Well, there is Dragnificent and…well, I guess I could tease you a little bit. I am going into the studio and recording some things but we are going to keep that a secret for now (laughs)
and, our final question. As queer people a word that we use with a lot of power is ‘Pride’. What does pride mean to you?
What pride means to me is somebody who just lives out loud and somebody who shows the world who they are and they own it. Thats what I think pride is, and its not just for us and our community its for everybody.
Huge thank you to DragCon UK, Jujubee and all of our readers for making this possible! be sure to follow jujubee on all of her social media accounts @Jujubeeonline
