We spoke to the legendary Drag Race alum India Farrah about her Las Vegas residency, a future All-Stars return and the DragCon UK drama. Enjoy!

India Ferrah attends RuPaul’s DragCon UK presented by World Of Wonder at Olympia London

Hey India, how does it feel to be here at the first ever DragCon UK?

It is so crazy. It’s my first time being in the UK, and I’ve been to every DragCon in L.A and NYC, so to be here at the first ever UK DragCon and everyone has been so sweet. the fans are incredible

It’s been a crazy weekend huh?

Oh my god, well Mayhem (Miller) and I went outside to the line yesterday for people who couldn’t get in and it was just so insane to see all of that love and how excited they were to get to see us. I think that everyone was really appreciative of that too, you know? to see the fans, their eyes light up and its just insane here, even to look over the balcony and see the pink carpet full of fans gathered around, and the meet and greet lines are just non-stop and everyones buying merchandise…its just incredible. I would say UK has been one of the best DragCons, its just been so over the top.

Now, if you were ever to return for an All-Star season what would you want to show the fans that they haven’t seen from you yet?

Probably the not so shy version of me, and not getting picked up (laughs). I’ve grown so much since season three, I mean, it’s what, 8 or 9 years ago now? so if I were ever to make it onto All-Stars I would want to show how much I’ve grown and just how crazy I have become, my personality has become so loud so I would show that. No regrets now, you only live once and you’ve got to show it, and that was my problem on Season 3, I held a lot of myself back because it wasn’t the phenomenon that it’s become now, it’s insane!

You’re a part of the cast of the new RuPaul’s Drag Race: Live Las Vegas residency starting this year, what has that journey been like so far?

Well we have been in rehearsals and the production is over the top! we have so many dancers, I’ve seen some of the stage sets and they’re amazing, its full on broadway, like its choreography and its a full production show. It’s almost like a viewing party mixed with a finale episode, its very fan-interactive, but it’s going to be crazy, everybody is going to love it. I think it’s going to be a hit.

So RuPaul’s Drag Race UK premiered this past year, did you watch any of Drag Race UK? If so did you have a favourite?

I saw like 2 episodes, I didn’t get to watch the full thing but The Vivienne was my favourite. I knew The Vivienne before she got on the show because she actually came to our Vegas drag brunch which is run by Voss events, the same production company as Work the World and Drag Race: Live, so I met her there and she was just everything, she has pure raw talent and she can do anything.

And my final question, As Queer people a word we use with a lot of power is “Pride”, what does pride mean to you?

Pride to me means power. You, as an individual, have the power to be yourself, to love yourself and be anything you want. You should never let anyone tell you that you can’t because you can. Theres no stopping us, and that’s pride.

A huge thank you to DragCon UK, India Ferrah and all of our readers for making this possible! You can find India on Instagram & Twitter: @Indiaferrah Photo Credit: World Of Wonder/Getty
