we had the pleasure of talking to Phi Phi O’hara atDragworld uk 2019! we talked all things drag race, make-up and how she feels about the editing of drag race! Check it out

so we are here at Dragworld!
yes we are!
Great! lets get into it. So, on All stars 2 you said that season 4 “put drag race on the map”. What do you think it was about your season that fans really connected to?
Umm…we were good? no I’m just kidding. I think season 4 had the most eclectic group of girls, and I think it was the first season that had that, like you had the pageant girls, you had the weird goth girl, you had the movie star girl with Willam, you had Latrice, you had Kenya, who’s trans now you had so many people on there. It was a great mix.
You did the “365 days of drag” 3 years ago now. Tell me, how difficult was that to complete and do you have any other big drag projects coming up?

I do! Well I’m not doing 365 days of drag ever again (laughs). It was a lot of work because I did it right when season 2 of All stars aired so I was touring constantly too, so sometimes I would create like 14 looks in a day just so I was prepared. So I’m not doing 365 days again but I do have another makeup series that’s coming out!
Now we know Drag Race UK is coming very soon. Will you be watching and what do you want to see on our version that we maybe haven’t seen in the US yet?
Talented girls. No I’m kidding (laughs). No I’ll definitely be watching yeah. The drag here is completely different from what it is back home. And I like the humour, I think your humour is very different to the US but I get it completely and I’m interested to see how thats gonna translate!
Totally! so, I personally feel like you got an unfair wrap on your seasons
You’re right! (laughs)
But how do you feel now, looking back at that now and the way that it was shown to the world?
I mean, I think the fans now are smarter, and they can see that It’s completely edited, and I’ve met enough people around the world for them to know that It’s bullshit. I’m just grateful there was so much time between season 4 and all stars 2 for the fans to get to know me and to get to see how produced the show is…so yeah, I’m just grateful.
And my final question. As Queer people a word we use with a lot of power is “Pride”. What does pride mean to you?
Pride to me is just to be authentically yourself and not apologising for yourself to anybody. I’ts constantly being proud of yourself.
